Angela is a Carolina girl born and raised in Greensboro, NC.  Her second home growing up was the South Carolina Coast, hence her love of all things water.  She has been interested in art as long as anyone can remember, from always carrying around a sketch pad to touring countless European galleries with her mother.

Angela has been an exhibiting artist since 2006 and has participated in numerous shows and exhibitions nationally.  In addition to exhibiting, Angela has taught workshops throughout the Southeast and Europe since 2006. She received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied classical drawing and painting at Queens University and Spirit Square Center for the Arts in Charlotte, N.C. She has studied intensively with Andy Braitman of Charlotte since 2000 and studied with many nationally recognized artists around the country.

Studying the effect that light has on an object and capturing that light is a constant source of fascination, and she strives to surprise herself with each painting. Angela love to create chaos on the canvas and then bring the painting into focus, constantly trying to see how much more she can leave out, bridging the gap between impressionism and abstraction.  With each painting, she works to be more abstract.  Angela builds up layers of paint with brush and palette knife allowing her subjects to wander softly in and out of the background.  Her process is all about the journey — it is truly a dance between the unknown and the known.

Angela lives in Charlotte, NC with her family and two dogs and is very grateful to do what she loves everyday.
